RAWALPINDI: At least seven vehicles including 2 buses and 1 oil tanker gutted when a huge fire erupted at a filling station located at Pirwadhai Bus Terminal, informed police on Sunday.
Rescue 1122 Fire Brigade was called for extinguishing fire. However, no casualty or injure reported. The vehicles that gutted in inferno included 4 cars, 2 buses and 1 oil tanker. A heavy contingent of police also rushed to the scene to control law and order situation.
According to detail Station House Officer (SHO) Pirwadhai Jahangir Bhatti, the fire broke out when the staff of Pakistan State Oil (PS) Pump was transferring petrol from oil tanker to underground tank through a metal pipe. He added that all of sudden a huge fire erupted while burning the oil tanker. The fire also gripped two buses and four other cars that were parked in the area of petrol pump reduring them into ashes, he said. Firebirgade of Rescue 1122 and other civic bodies were called which started rescue operation while controlling fire, SHO informed.
Talking to the scribe, Jahangir Bhatti said, “The reason behind the fire is a flame that appeared in the underground tank when the metal pipe threw by fillers powerfully hit with another metal stuff. In result fire broke out,”
On the other hand, the news of fire in filling station gripped the whole locality. Heavy contingent of police reached at the spot to avoid any toward incident. Police penned in the daily crime register and started investigation
