Corps Commanders’ were not aware of rigging
MQM not the only party with ‘militant wing’
ISLAMABAD: Former Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry were two key figures who orchestrated the rigging in 2013 Election in which the Pakistan Mulsim League (N) claimed majority, this was stated by Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMLQ) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in an exclusive interview to Sardar Khan Niazi in Roze News program Sachi Baat.
The PMLQ President said that General Kayani’s main motivation for helping in the rigging was to get an extension. He added that if the name of any army personnel is taken in any issue it is alleged that army is being maligned which is wrong. Shujaat said that he is not against the army in any way. He said that the Corps Commanders’ were not aware of the rigging.
Shujaat said that if the Government wants to hold a trial of former President Pervez Musharraf than my trial should also be held. He added that the aim of the sit-in by PAT and PTI was not to save Musharraf. The PMLQ leader said that MQM is not the only party with a militant wing and most of the parties in Pakistan posses such wings. Shujaat boasted that politicians who have learned the art of politics from PMLQ are now present in every other party be it the PTI, PPP or PMLN. He said that former leaders of his party have been given Ministries by the current Government.
Shujaat said that he had advised Imran Khan not to take oath, as in this case the Government would have accepted his demands of conducting an inquiry into rigging allegations. He added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hasn’t learnt any lesion from the 12 October coup.
