Gayle becomes first to enter 10k runs club in T20s

MUMBAI: Chris Gayle has become the first cricketer to score 10,000 runs in Twenty20 format. He already has the most number of centuries and half-centuries, 18 and 60 respectively.

Gayle is known for his aggressive batting and plays in T20 leagues all around the world. Amongst the popular franchises, he plays for Karachi Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Somerset and others.

Other players in the most runs in T20s include Brendon McCullum (7524), Brad Hodge (7338), David Warner (7156), Kieron Pollard (7087). This shows how Gayle is far ahead of others in the run count.

While playing for Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League, he scored the fastest T20 fifty off just 12 balls. The left-arm batsman has 736 sixes and 764 fours in his T20 career, the most by any batsman in the shortest format.
