ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said that democracy faced threats from those pretending to be its champion.
Addressing lawyers at Lahore High Court Bar, the AML Chief said that when SC ordered constitution of JIT the PML-N leaders distributed sweets.
“Today Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to appear before the JIT and the PML-N has distributed sticks among supporters in Punjab,” he claimed.
He added that the fight was between thieves and the law. “It is a make or break time for Pakistan, “ Sheikh remarked referring to the Panama JIT’s investigation against Sharif family.
He claimed that Nawaz Sharif had been given agenda to destroy country’s institutions. He further claimed that work on CPEC projects had been stopped.
The AML chief came down hard on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, saying that his only competence is tempering with documents.
Rashid also flayed him for using what he said filthy language in his press talk after appearing before JIT on Monday.=DNA
