LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that corruption, loot and nepotism in development projects have become a story of the past as the Punjab government has promoted transparency in its development projects.
He expressed these views while talking to Members of National Assembly (MNAS) Ch. Riaz-ul-Haq and Aslam Bodla who called on him, here on Thursday.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the development schemes of Punjab government are an example of its own with regard to transparency and standard. He said that the international agencies have also acknowledged the merit and transparency policy of the Punjab government.
The Chief Minister said that third-party audit system has been designed to ensure 100 percent transparency in development projects and billions of rupees, which have been saved in different projects due to transparency, are being used on public welfare schemes. Meanwhile, records have been set by timely and before-time completion of energy projects.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that the elements that have not done anything for the people are unnerved due to the development process and added that their criticism on the development projects is, in fact, enmity with the people. He vowed that people will be continuously provided best-travelling facilities whether its metro or speedo bus service. INP
