ISLAMABAD: A Computer Science and STEM awareness seminar ‘CS-STEM Enrichment Session’ was organized at I.M.C.G. G-10/2 by ‘Girls in CS-STEM Pakistan’.
The speaker was Mahum Tariq, a software engineering undergraduate student at NUST and member of Pakistan U.S. Alumni Network. The session aimed at promoting STEM fields in girls by raising awareness about potential careers, national and international competitions and ways to get involved in STEM particularly computing.
Girls were encouraged to start STEM Clubs in their schools/colleges and to take benefit from open access resources. Mahum shared her study abroad experience and encouraged students to apply for Youth Exchange and Study program by U.S. Department of State. Samra Latif, the principal of the college and members of the faculty were also present on the occasion.
