RAWALPINDI: In connection with the current security situation in the district, the police has ordered to install CCTV cameras on all the hubs of public transport Rawalpindi.
According to the details, the Rawalpindi Police has directed the administration of all the intra-districts public transport to install CCTV cameras on ports and thoroughly search the baggage of all the passengers, so that the security threats can be fainted.
The police suggested that CCTV cameras should be installed on such points from where every entering passenger and its luggage can be recorded. This record will help to track and arrest the culprits.
The police urged district administration of Rawalpindi to help the installation of CCTV cameras in collaboration with RTA.
According to the sources in police, the public transport ports of the district are very vulnerable due to neither keeping passengers’ record nor the record of their baggage. There is no system of checking at the ports as well.
The sources said that daily thousands of passengers arrive and depart from Pirwadahi, Swan, Faizabad and Peshawar road, but all these ports lack sufficient security system. DNA
