It is good omen that Foreign Ministry once gain held a meeting with foreign diplomats and ambassadors in order to brief them about Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in war against terrorism. Ambassadors and Heads of Missions in Islamabad were briefed on Wednesday by the Foreign Minister, Foreign Secretary, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Director General Military Operations (DG MO) and Director General Military Intelligence (DG MI) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Pakistan’s achievements and challenges in counter-terrorism efforts, and combating violent extremism; unprecedented escalations of Indian ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary (WB); and the gross Indian atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir(IoK). Reportedly, participants were briefed about the massive counter-terrorism efforts that Pakistan had undertaken in the last 16 years, more so the developments in the last 4 years. They were told about successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fassad in elimination of terrorism. They were also briefed about the terrorist threat emanating from the safe havens and sanctuaries in Afghanistan, which is resulting in loss of human lives and damage to infrastructure in Pakistan. Details were also provided on how Indian belligerence and unhelpful posturing is distracting Pakistan’s counter terrorism efforts and how an active RAW/NDS nexus is verifiably working to undermine Pakistan’s internal stability. More importantly, ambassadors were shown evidence of an Indian campaign of unprecedented ceasefire violations, provocations and insinuations including terrorism in the form of IED attacks against innocent civilians on the Pakistan side of the LoC and the WB. Recently United States has accused Pakistan number of times for not taking decisive action against militants. Though Pakistan has brushed aside US allegations, but there is further need to let rest of the world know about the huge sacrifices Pakistan has rendered fighting terror. World should know that Pakistan is one of the most affected countries by terrorism, but with determination and firm resolve country has achieved marvelous successes against terrorism. If US troops equipped with most advanced weapons could not defeat terrorists in Afghanistan in decades, Pakistan should not be made scapegoat over this failure. It is also need of time to tell the world about heinous plans of India to sponsor anti-state elements in Pakistan in order to spread instability and terror. It is also pleasing that ambassadors were briefed on continued ceasefire violations by India and atrocities of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.
