KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday granted 90 days remand of the 27 MQM accused including Amir Khan to the Rangers. They were arrested by the Rangers in a raid on the MQM Headquarters Nine Zero early on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, paramilitary Rangers produced 27 accused in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in the ATC.
Amir Khan, is security Incharge of Nine Zero. During the raid the Rangers arrested suspects including those who were already sentenced by the courts or FIRs were registered against them on various charges. Among the people arrested during the raid was Faisal alias Faisal Motu, who was sentenced to death in the murder case journalist Wali Khan Babar. Other ‘hardened criminals’ arrested and remanded included Kamran alias Zeeshan, Farhan Shabir alias Mullah, Aamir, Nadir and Obaid alias K2.
Stringent security measures were made at the court premises when the Rangers brought the arrested people and no one was allowed to enter the court premises.
The hands of the accused were tied and they were blindfolded when they were brought to produce in the court.
